CLINICAL SERVICES-CATARACT

INTRODUCTION: WHO WE ARE

The Cataract Department comprises a team of 9 specialists, offering comprehensive evaluation and treatment of cataract to more than 30,000 patients per year. The department is now one of the major cataract centers in south China. A number of state-of-the-arr equipments and techniques are used in the diagnosis and treatment of cataract, including IOL MASTER, HD-OCT, anterior segment OCT, multi-focal electrophysiology, YAG laser, sophisticated surgical microscopes and phacoemulsification machines. A list of prenium intraocular lens (IOL) over standard monofocal ones are used for the patients in case of neccecssity and on the base of patients’ demands, including aspherical IOL, multifocal IOL, iris fixed IOL, Toric IOL and phakic IOL Over 5,000 cataract surgeries are routinely performed annually in the Cataract Service Department, with many of them are complicated and difficult cases from areas of nationwide.
